Canonization Mass of Carlo Acutis
and Pier Giorgio Frassati

A Historic Day at the Vatican

On September 7, 2025, the Catholic Church canonized Carlo Acutis and Pier Giorgio Frassati in St. Peter’s Square at the Vatican. Morning Star Studio had the honor of contributing artwork that reached the hands of pilgrims, press, and even the Holy Father.

From Cincinnati to the Vatican,
Art became a bridge between souls and saints.

Witnessing History in St. Peter’s Square

Morning Star Studio’s very own Melissa Gillie and Holly Schapker were invited to reflect on their experience at the canonization of Carlo Acutis and Pier Giorgio Frassati — an honor that allowed us to witness firsthand how sacred art can inspire the faithful around the world.

Sharing Sacred Art Across the World

At the canonization of Carlo Acutis and Pier Giorgio Frassati, our paintings were carried into St. Peter’s Square, printed on prayer cards, and even gifted as tiles to Pope Francis. Along the way, these images were seen by thousands of pilgrims — and appeared in media outlets like Vatican News’ Instagram and Getty Images.
